Recently the 1984 forum took a trip down memory lane and unearthed some of the Greatest Hawkeye Wrestling Comebacks! Here are some the matches we discussed, I’ve added quotes on the matches when available!

Jim Gibbons (Iowa State) vs Randy Lewis (Iowa)

Cary Kolat vs Mark Ironside

“I could feel him really break physically,” Ironside said. “As soon as he got the reversal on me, I was able to come up and get an escape immediately and he couldn’t ride me at all. He had no energy to ride me.”

Ethan Lizak vs Thomas Gilman
